The old historic suspension bridge over the San Rafael River at the mouth of Buckhorn Wash in the San Rafael Swell was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in1937 and is 160 feet long. It was called the Swinging Bridge because it would sway as trucks drove over it. In the background are the vertical Wingate Sandstone cliffs of the Wedge.
