The Bridge of the Americas, formerly the Thatcher Ferry Bridge, was opened 1962 and spans the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal.  It is a cantilever design where the suspended span is a tied arch. The bridge  is 1,654 m or 5,425 ft. long, the highest point is 117 m, or 384 ft high, with 201’ of clearance at high tide.  Balboa, Panama.
